Yes, Lord, you know I love you.
We continue to celebrate the Resurrection with readings that describe the joy of being able to share the Good News about Jesus.
In the First Reading we hear how Peter and the first disciples encountered opposition and misunderstanding as they witnessed to the people of Jerusalem. Despite this they are full of gladness.
The Psalm is one of rejoicing and praise of God because, “Lord, you have rescued me and have not let my enemies rejoice over me … you have changed my mourning into dancing”.
John (Second Reading) describes the heavenly witness to Jesus, that gives praise, honour, glory and power to him for ever.
The apostles meet Jesus again in Galilee when, once again, he calls them away from their fishing to follow him (Gospel). Peter is forgiven and is asked to affirm his love by tending the “flock” that is the Church.
Like the apostles, we are witnesses to the Resurrection of Jesus. How does this make a difference to my daily life, and the life of those around me? How will I share my love for Jesus my Lord.
